áplat

Our greatest stories come alive when we find ourselves making time to engage with one another. Through their unique design inspired by Origami and their commitment to zero-waste, àplat creates carrier totes to bring a meal, a bottle of wine, or some flowers to a friend without compromising the environment. This small women-run business used the intersection between the founder’s experience living in San Francisco, CA and growing up in France to bring their totes to life. Good things come together when we share ourselves with one another, and àplat gives us the chance to do that with zero-waste at the forefront. We’re always a fan of style and sustainability, and when it brings people together, we’re all in.

àplat approaches design by helping reduce consumer textile waste and reduce the use of non-renewable plastic and elastic in our kitchen. They bring their belief that all makers have a responsibility to reduce pre-consumer waste. They believe this starts with design. Through the use of 100% GOT certified pre-shunk organic cotton sourced from India, their Origami method of folding, lots of math to ensure the golden ratio is used to eliminate waste, this company has it all put together to be a force for the planet while providing a useful tool for us.
